When people come to the store or write to me with questions about magnetic therapy, this is one of the first things they ask: What is the difference between PEMF and static magnets, and which one should I use?
After so many years teaching and working with thousands of clients, I can tell you this: both tools are powerful, but they each support the body in different ways. My goal here is to help you understand those differences so you can choose what feels right for your needs, your lifestyle, and your healing journey.
What Are Static Magnets?
Let’s start with the simplest tool. Static magnets, or permanent magnets, stay the same all the time. Once you place them on your body, they create a steady magnetic field that doesn’t change or pulse. That steady field can help the tissues relax, ease tension, and support circulation in the area where you place them.
You’ll see static magnets in back wraps, knee bands, mattress pads, insoles, and many other daily-use items. They are easy, practical, and gentle enough for long-term wear, which is why so many people start here.
Why I Recommend Static Magnets
-
They help calm the body and support relaxation
-
They ease discomfort and help reduce inflammation
-
They support better sleep and joint comfort
-
They are perfect for everyday use, especially if you need support while you work or sleep
For many people with localized or chronic discomfort, static magnets are the first step toward feeling better.

What Is PEMF Therapy?
PEMF uses gentle pulses of electromagnetic energy. Those pulses move through the body in waves, almost like a rhythm, and they reach areas that static magnets sometimes cannot reach on their own.
In the store, we use PEMF mats and portable devices that create this pulsing effect. Many clients tell me they feel more energized, clearer, and lighter after a session. PEMF works at a deeper, more cellular level, and it helps when the body feels overwhelmed, inflamed, or low on energy.
Why PEMF Helps So Many People
-
It helps the cells recover and produce energy
-
It supports the body’s natural electrical balance
-
It helps with bone density, muscle recovery, and overall vitality
-
It is ideal for acute pain or those days when your whole body feels “off”
PEMF sessions usually last between twenty and sixty minutes, and many people come in for regular sessions to keep their system balanced.
So… Which One Should You Use?
This is the part everyone wants to know, and the truth is simple. It’s not about which one is better. It’s about what your body needs right now.
Here is a quick way to think about it:
| Therapy Type | Best For | How You Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Static Magnets | Localized discomfort, joint pain, daily support | Wear as you go through your day |
| PEMF | Whole-body energy, inflammation, deep fatigue | Scheduled sessions on a mat |
Many of my clients combine both. They use static magnets while they sleep or work, and PEMF during the day or evening to reset and recharge. The two therapies complement each other beautifully.
How I Explain the Difference to My Clients
I often tell my clients that static magnets are your daily maintenance, and PEMF therapy is your deep recharge.
One supports you continuously. The other helps you recover energy when you need it most.
But something I explain more and more is this: ever since I began working with the electromagnetic therapy I use in my practice, the best way to benefit from PEMF is to combine it with N-type static therapeutic magnets.
When you use both therapies together, you optimize the energy your body receives. Your cells respond better, your mitochondria activate, and the body gets a much more complete recharge. This is why, during my sessions, we use what I call the Therapy Add On to PEMF, which consists of placing N-type magnets on the body while receiving PEMF therapy. I teach this setup in my book as well, and you can see an image of me lying on a full PEMF mat with my N magnets in place.
Can you use PEMF without magnets? Yes, you can. But if someone is dealing with a health challenge or needs to recover their energy more deeply, the combination offers a significant advantage. It is like multiplying the effect of the recharge your body needs.

Which Products Should You Use
In my practice and in my personal life, I work with Vasindux products because they have never failed me and their quality is unmatched. The OMI PEMF is one of my favorites because it is portable and easy to take anywhere. I also carry these devices in my store, since I am the exclusive distributor for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, and because I trust their performance and durability completely.

How to Choose What You Need Today
You can ask yourself a simple question:
-
Do I want natural relief throughout the day or while I sleep?
Try static magnets.
-
Do I feel drained, inflamed, or out of balance?
Explore PEMF sessions.
Remember, your body changes. Some days you may need one, and other days you may need both.
