Dr. Irma I. Sierra, B.S, D.C., F.I.C.P.A.

Dr. Irma Sierra was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Dr. Ralph U. Sierra and Irma Rivera Santiago. Her father, the first chiropractor in Puerto Rico, was instrumental in creating the law and the Board of Examiners that legalized the practice of chiropractic care on the island in 1952. He was also a renowned scientist and a pioneer in the use of biomagnetism in Puerto Rico.

Growing up surrounded by science and discovery, Dr. Sierra worked alongside her father at his clinic, assisted in his laboratory, and accompanied him to local and international conferences. Chiropractic care and magnetic therapy have been part of her life from an early age, and she could not imagine a path that did not involve serving humanity through healing.

She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 1984. That same year, she became the first Puerto Rican woman to practice chiropractic care in Puerto Rico. Dr. Sierra also broke new ground as the first female president of both the Junta Examinadora de Quiroprácticos de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Chiropractic Board of Examiners) and the Asociación de Quiroprácticos de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Chiropractic Association), as well as the first female delegate to the American Chiropractic Association and the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. She is licensed to practice in New York and Florida.

In 1985, she founded Clínica Quiropráctica Dra. Sierra in San Juan. Ten years later, her husband, Dr. Jorge C. Jarrot, joined the clinic, and they renamed it Clínica Quiropráctica Jarrot Sierra with the hope that their three children—Jorge, Adrián, and Alexandra—would one day continue the chiropractic legacy. That dream became reality, as all three are now chiropractors.

In 2004, with the support of her family, Dr. Sierra founded Health Magnetic Store & More, the first magnetic product store in Puerto Rico. Concerned about the growing presence of poorly manufactured and mislabeled products on the market, she decided to make available to the public the same high-quality magnetic products used in her clinic. Today, the store receives orders from around the world, and Dr. Sierra frequently exhibits her products at local and international conventions.

Committed to educating the public about the healing properties of magnets, she published her first book, El Poder del Imán, in 2007. It was later translated into English under the title Power in a Magnet.

With over twenty-five years of experience, Dr. Sierra has not fully retired. She continues to work as a consultant at Jarrot Sierra Chiropractic Clinic and remains active in research and development for Health Magnetic Store & More. She also launched Dr. Sierra’s Naturals, a line of more than thirty non-GMO supplements, free of gluten, corn, wheat, yeast, sugar, milk, eggs, starch, preservatives, and artificial colors. Additionally, she founded Dr. Sierra Magnets, a line of federally and state-registered magnetic products specifically designed for therapeutic use.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sierra has participated extensively in radio, television, and print media. She has conducted numerous lectures both locally and internationally on chiropractic care and biomagnetism. Currently, she co-hosts the educational television program Tu Salud alongside her husband and daughter, previously known as Salud en Familia. She also offers regular health and wellness lectures at her clinic, focusing on chiropractic care, nutrition, biomagnetism, and the benefits of natural healing practices.
